Fluid yoga dynamically links the flowing nature of the breath with mindful, continual movement and creative sequencing. This heat-building vinyasa flow will not only increase strength and flexibility, but also train the mind to be more content and relaxed throughout the most difficult challenges on and off the mat. Using the classical elements as inspiration, we will become grounded and refine our balance with the earth, explore flowing movement and grace in the manner of water, ignite fire within our bodies through core strengthening and detoxification, and empower the air flowing within us through breath control and mind training. All classes end with a guided savasana, to embrace our space element and rejuvenate the spirit. The ultimate goal is for students to leave class feeling peaceful, powerful and full of bliss.
SPA Yoga® is a slow-flow floor-based yoga class that flows through the body’s senses to discover a deeper awareness. The physical practice spends time opening all energetic points of the body to leave the practitioner with a bliss-filled, peaceful feeling. During SPA, students may discover extra hands on assists and massages, a calming candlelit room atmosphere, delightful scents and beautiful music in the background. The class will end with a relaxing 15 minute guided meditation. Students are prepared to feel like they just walked out of a SPA!
This flow-style practice links the breath with a series of postures to build heat in the body, developing strength, flexibility and stamina. These classes are challenging but are suitable for students of all levels. Attention is also placed on the journey between the postures not just the postures themselves.
In these classes we will relax deeply through passive postures that open the body using props as needed. Props may include bolsters, blankets, and straps. Poses will be held for longer periods, sometimes several minutes, as we melt into each posture to release tension and relax by breathing into each muscle. These classes are a great way to relieve stress, and are offered in a warm, quiet room to soothing music.
